We commit ourselves not to acquire conflict minerals, known as 3TGs, (tin, tantalum, tungsten, gold) that finance armed groups in areas of conflict (Democratic Republic of Congo "DRC" and adjacent countries). We have not abolished the extraction of these minerals in these regions because this would harm legitimate miners.
We are taking action throughout our supply chain to ensure that our sources do not fund armed groups in the DRC and adjacent countries. To this end, we continue to investigate our supplier countries and also conduct due diligence in the supply chain following the processes and procedures set out in the OECD Due Diligence Guidelines for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals in Conflict and Risk Areas. Our Director is responsible for managing the actions of this team.
We expect our suppliers to have a current policy and implement a system to track the origin of tin, tantalum, tungsten and gold supplied to the organization, following the model developed by the Conflict-Free Sourcing Initiative. http://www.responsiblemineralsinitiative.org/
Suppliers are encouraged to report ethical concerns or policy violations as described in http://www.giovannipassarella.com.br/en/company-policies. Further information on this subject: http://www.responsiblemineralsinitiative.org/
